Welcome to RANGA !!!
Ranga Theatre, established in 2007, is an experimental theatre group in Mumbai. It has toured throughout India and abroad for prestigious Theatre Festivals. Ranga theatre has also contributed for children’s theatre in India. It is the theatre company to produce for the first time a stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s Booker prize winner “Life Of
Pi” called “Pi – In search of God’s name”. It has also amalgamated two children’s classics – Lewis Carroll's “Alice in Wonderland” and Miguel de Cervantes‘ “Don Quixote” into “Quixotic
Wonderland” which was featured in national children’s festivals.
Classics remain in books but for keeping them immortal, we strive to create elements of grandeur and aesthetic magnificence in our productions by assimilating various elements like
martial art forms -“Thang Ta and Chhau”, fusion music ,visual effects, 3-D and projection, languages, different forms of illusion on stage, which make our plays dynamic and chronicle
them in the minds of our audience.
Ranga Theatre is a multi-dimensional production house and our foremost aim is to entertain people and also reconnect the young contemporary world with the principles and core
human ethics explored in the classics which are always ahead of their times.
What makes Ranga Theatre distinctive.
Studying the classics in depth and having contemporary relevance as per today's audience.
Collaboration of different art forms to create a world of unique experience visually as well as psychologically.
We incorporate technology to get additional layers of thoughts and imagination in the play to engage the audience in many dimension’s.
Our vision is to reconnect the audience with the Classics & mythologies around the world which have time and again left us in wonderment.
It is a unique platform where we experiment a variety of dance & music forms which are not so familiar with people, for e.g., “Thang ta” and “Chhau”. etc .
